Another well-made piece of equipment from K&F
I’m an amateur photographer maybe even more a hobbyist and trying to expand my knowledge and equipment from the videos I shoot. I have been really impressed with the K&F Concept equipment so far and this variable ND filter is no different.
The build quality seems consistent with the other equipment I have from them and is impressive to me. It feels solid and well made. Even though it is scratch resistant I am glad I haven’t had to test that particular feature. The included case is a nice bonus to help protect your filter when in storage or travelling and it fits in my camera bag without an issue. I found the grip to be beneficial when handling the filter. I also found the filter to be easy to put on and remove.
The adjustment lever makes it super easy to fine-tune the amount of light coming through. I love how smooth it rotates, and the clear markings make it easy to know exactly where you're set. It feels very beginner-friendly but still high-end in how it works. There’s no vignetting in my shots with my Sony camera’s 24mm or 90mm lenses, and the thin frame keeps things nice and compact.
The image quality is excellent—everything looks sharp and clear, and I haven’t noticed any weird color shifts or loss of detail. Even when shooting in strong sunlight or in the my studio area with backlit scenes, the filter handles glare and reflections really well. I’ve been trying to play with blurring motion using longer shutter speeds, and the results have been awesome so far, even though I know I am still learning.
For the price and the build quality, I think it’s a fantastic value. I looked at similar filters in local stores, and most of them cost a lot more without offering anything better. This one is easy to use, and performs great. If you're looking to experiment I found this filter to be a great investment.
