Rollei (QBM) Lens to Nikon Z Series Mount Camera High Precision Lens Adapter, QBM-NIK Z
SKU: KF06.493
The adapter itself is great, makes a high-quality impression, and is solidly built. It was supposed to adapt my analog mirror telephoto lens with an M42 thread to the Nikon Z7 II. It fits perfectly on the camera, but the lens can't be fully screwed onto the adapter (see pictures).
The problem?
The M42 lens thread is actually a T2 (42mm diameter / 0.75mm thread pitch).
The M42 adapter thread (42mm diameter / 1mm thread pitch).
In my case, I actually need a T2-to-Nik Z adapter.
Therefore, check carefully which adapter you actually need.
I think the seller should point this out to prevent incorrect purchases and thus returns. That's why I'm only giving it 4 stars.

It's an adapter that allows the use of discontinued Nikon lenses (such as the D series) on Z series mirrorless cameras. It has no electrical contacts, which are completely useless for lenses that are used with manual focus and don't transmit data to the camera, and it's not suitable for using newer-generation lenses. It's well-made, sturdy yet lightweight, and fits snugly on both sides. It comes in a handy plastic case (cardboard cases offer less protection and wear easily). Several buyers criticize the lack of protective caps, but since the adapter is completely empty, there's nothing to protect; a cap would only be useful if the adapter were left permanently attached to a lens.

I ordered the K&F adapter after having to return a cheap, unbranded one because it simply didn't fit properly and wobbled excessively. This not only potentially affects the focus but could also damage the camera's lens mount.
But with this one: Everything is perfect, it fits like a glove, with only a *minimal* amount of play, and that's only when rotating around the axis. (And I only noticed that because I was specifically looking for play.)
Here's the first test shot: March 28, 2023, 10:42 PM CEST, Vienna.
Nikon Z fc + SkyWatcher 102/1300mm; f/12.7; 1/500s; ISO/ASA 5600; single shot, level, handheld, no image stabilization. Moderately noise-reduced, color-enhanced, and rolling shutter corrected.

I ordered the Nikon Z-to-M42 adapter for my Nikon Z6. Delivery was fast. The adapter was nicely packaged. It fulfills its purpose perfectly, is very sturdy made of metal, and doesn't wobble on the Nikon Z6. M42 lenses focus to infinity. You have to manually enter the focal length in the camera for VR to work. I simply couldn't ask for more from such an adapter.

The Nikon Z mount is slightly less secure than the original, but works perfectly up to 135mm. For longer focal lengths, look for a lens with a tripod collar if possible. It's a shame this adapter ring doesn't come with a lens cap.

The lens is well tightened on the adapter ring and the latter fits precisely and stably on the camera body. The Nikon Nikkor lens on Nikon Z camera. The adapter is well made with a matte interior to avoid reflections.
For the quality/price ratio I give 3 stars not because it is badly made obviously but because it costs more than other bayonet/camera body combinations. The overall deserves 5 stars as it works very well.

I used it to pair old Nikkor manual lenses with the Nikon Zii. Obviously the camera only works manually with some difficulty focusing, because the mirrorless, unlike the digital one like the D810, does not have a colored dot to indicate when the focus is perfect.

The FTZ adapter was easy to mount on my Z6ii, attaching the Nikon 24-120 FX was also no problem, the camera functions could be transferred to the lens.
The first impression is an inexpensive, very good solution
