In terms of filter quality, there is something for everyone at all prices and often, we don't necessarily need a €200 filter to take 3 photos in the year, so obviously there are also several qualities but for me the basic is perfect, and this one completely corresponds to my occasional use.

On effect filters, we generally use them in small doses.

Good overall quality

The filter on this lens works really well. It does create colorful effects around light sources, just like is shown on the listing page. It could be a pretty fun filter to use at night or in specific contexts, but it could also get old quite rapidly. If you feel like that starlight effect is something you'd want from times to times, the lens is not that expensive and it's very good quality, so it's a safe recommendation if you want to get a little creative.

Prism effect filter for photographic lens ɸ 52.
The product arrives well protected inside a rigid plastic box and inside it is completely wrapped in a foam seat; in addition to the filter, in the package we find 3 microfiber cloths for cleaning the lens.
Bought for my Nikon D5200, it fits perfectly both on the standard 18-55 lens and also on the 55-200, it is really very easy to assemble and does not cause the slightest disturbance during use, it is possible to mount the lens hood very quickly, this applies to both the snap-on and bayonet ones.
I mainly use it to take photos in the evening or at night to be able to make the most of the filter effect.
The effect we receive when photographing light sources is as if a prism were illuminated or even more "jokingly" it is like an "astigmatism" effect, which gives a particular tone to the photos.
K9 glass guarantees high light transmittance and equally high color rendering, ensuring a clear and quality image.
Made of sandblasted aerospace aluminum alloy, the matte finish also prevents reflections and the penetration of diffused light, ensuring a really high grip and you also have the possibility of being able to rotate the filter thanks to an integrated bearing and the rotation is fluid and gives enough resistance to the movement that helps us to make a fluid movement in the case of filming rather than photographing.
The part of the filter that screws onto the lens is also equipped with teeth along the entire circumference in order to maximize the grip during assembly/disassembly; on the front part, however, there is a seat to attach the lens cap.
The only flaw: with entry level cameras or with lenses that have a low brightness, if you use it in the evening/night you could have problems with the automatic focus.
In conclusion: excellent product, recommended!

As its name suggests and the illustration images faithful to the real effect show, it is a filter that allows you to create creative flares from light sources in the field, in the form of more or less irregular stars with a repetition of rainbow colors in each trail.

The filter is rotatable to be able to adjust the effect although it remains quite random in terms of the result, which will be a little chaotic but consistent with somewhat old school funk rushes for example.

It is better to have strong light sources directly visible in the field and in a limited number (2-3 maximum) so that the effect is present but does not cover too much of the image.

In terms of use, it will be more suitable for video than for photography I think since the richness it brings is mainly in the movement and it will be better to anticipate its integration well due to the lighting constraints, ideal for indoor video clips for example if you want this effect.

We film a lot of videos and take tons of photographs for our youtube channel, well travelled life. This star light effect filter in 77mm is perfect for the Canon lenses I typically use when travelling. A perfect use is night time photography as an alternative to black mist filters. It does what the name suggests adds light effects emanating from any bright highlights. Used subtly, it can add interest to anything from urban scenes to Christmas markets. K&F filters are well made and I have a number of them in my kit bag. Highly recommended.
