72mm Gold Streak Effect Lens Filter (2mm) Anamorphic Optical Glass Light Flare Effect Filter for Camera Lens Nano-Xcel Series
SKU: KF01.2109
I am new to K&F filters but I have acquired 3 in the last month and have found them all to be of very high quality. This K&F Concept 72mm Gold Streak Effect Lens Filter is no exception.
The lens is well-made and fits and functions well.
The effect of the lens is very good.
Like all special effect lenses, it should be used sparingly and after much practice.

I like this filter but its bound to look a bit smudgy with a longer lens. I tried it on my 70-200mm and while it looked fine at 70mm, it didn't look great for anything tighter than 100-200mm. The farther your elements are from the lens, the softer the effect will be so keep this in mind if you plan on doing any sort of long lens stuff. With a lens under 70mm, it'll give you a "screen door" look with the flair lines fairly sharp but anything longer just looks like a dirty lens. I wish it didn't have the gold effect coloring since this is something i'd much rather adjust for in post. The build quality is decent, I've had no issues with the threading after putting it on one of my B&W filters although I still don't trust K&F after a filter got stuck on one of my lenses a few years ago. I'd still go with Prism FX for any specialty filters like these since they seem to be put together a bit better but this still represents a good value. I really like the filter case they include, it keeps the filter steady without being super bulky, seems like all filter companies should use this case.

Check out my quick test video. IMO it looks best when the image is overexposed.
If you look at the end of the video you'll see how this filter could completely ruin your footage. This might be solved with some further experimentation, I bet a matte box would help to solve light being picked up directly on the gold wires in the filter.
You'll want to remember to take it OFF your lens when there's not a bright specular light source in your frame.
