I really like the quality of K&F. I have another VND from them as well ones from Neewer and Freewell. So comparing this one to those, there are a lot of things that I like and just a couple that I am not too crazy about.
I love the build quality. The movement is smooth. The handle makes it really easy to do a micro-adjustment. The case is one of those nice PU leather ones with the ribbon. The hydrophobic coating works great. I dripped a few drops on it to test and they just roll right off. I touched it with my finger and couldn't tell where I touched it.
As to the quality of the photos, I don't notice any color cast, although I do shoot with auto white balance, and also don't usually need to take the filter all the way to 9 stops. I used this on my 35mm 1.8.
The only things I don't like as well is that this is a beefy filter. I prefer to have a filter case with me because I have some pro mist filters and some creative filters. This one is just thicker than all the others. So I have to watch how I stow it in my bag. The advantage with a filter that is a little bulkier like this is that it is easier to thread on and off. Also, I know the description says it is stepless. This is fine. But I would prefer a slight tactile response to each step. And it would have been nice if there were a hard stop at each end of the range.
Overall those are minor nitpicks and are mostly just a preference. This is an extremely well-engineered filter and is the nicest one that I own. I have really enjoyed shooting with it.

An excellent ND filter once attached easily changes from 1-9 stops with accurate density. As always with K&F Concept their upscale filters always come in a quality leather protective case. Set then forget for that correctly exposed movie shot.

THE PERFECT TOOL FOR CREATIVE LONG EXPOSURES
I was recently shooting the exterior of a historic Gold Rush era Court House here in Northern California, but there were constantly people walking through the frame. To solve this, I needed to use a long exposure, which is where a good ND filter is essential.

This is a high quality, well built VND filter. The 58mm filter thread fits my lenses with that filter thread size perfectly. The thumb handle does make it hard to mount with a lens and use with a lens hood. This is not a major deal for me as i typically only use VND filters for video and don’t use lens hoods in those scenarios. The image quality that i get while using this filter is still great. It does not destroy my colors nor does it soften my image. I love the filter case that comes with this filter as it is made tough with quality that matches the filter. I can throw this in my bag and not have a single concern that my filter will be damaged while in its case. This is a great value for a quality filter that provides flexibility for video due to the fact that it offers a range of stops as opposed to one.

It does have a significant amount of a color cast (I put up an image where you can see the difference between off/on at lowest/on at highest). The color cast is easy to fix though. Didn't notice any degradation in image quality, and didn't see any x patterns or anything if the nd wasn't on the exact points.
Rotating it is easy with the handle, but there's no way to lock it in place, and there's also no hard stops so you can keep rotating it. It's fine for casual video shooting, but I wouldn't be a fan of using it for more intense video shoots since it's easy to accidently adjust it and since it's only marked in one area of the filter making sure you are on the correct position is pretty annoying.
It's not my favorite variable ND filter. The fact you can't lock it in place makes it less useful for wedding videography for me. Though as a photographic ND filter for casual shooting, the filter works perfectly fine. This won't be in the professional kit, but it will be in the walk around camera bag.

Like all of the K&F filters I have- this is exceptional. I am a hobbyist photographer- not a professional- but I have thousands invested in my gear. I don't have the capability to truly test the accuracy of the stops- but to have one filter that I can use for up to 9 full stops is great for landscape photography here in the Sunshine state where I live- or anywhere you're needing to accommodate for changing bright lighting conditions. I only have one lens that this filter fits- which is a 35MM 1.8- so it's great if I want to go wide open in the sun and use the filter to step it down while maintaining the bokeh I am looking for. A very nice lens filter- machined well and easy on/off on my lens. Buy with confidence- a good filter at a reasonable price.

This filter is absolutely a work of art in itself. From the beautiful and functional packaging, to the solid matte build of the filter - I am in love and already going out to try it more than I was planning to.
It comes in a palm size, firm leather case with a ribbon to easily slide out the filter.
The filter screws in perfectly with my camera lens and the stops are smooth and easy to slide, but stays firmly in place as well.
I'm really impressed and will look out for more K&F Filters in the future!

Superb quality pens from what appears to be a superior K&F range.
K&F make quality stuff anyway, but this is a step above. From the packaging to the signature orange metal grip for adjusting the filter - the first time I've seen this on a K&F filter so I assume it is new for this range.
Optically very clear, smooth rotation, and great build quality.
Of less importance, but still nice, the filter is supplied boxed then in a (over-sized) faux leather case that it can be kept safe in in your kit bag.
It also looks like the outer of the filter may have a thread so filters may be stackable, but the diameter is different to the filter screw so I haven't been able to try that.
