This is an interesting filter with some caveats.

Overall in regular usage it will act like a mist filter...softening the image.
Specifically, you can bring out colored starbursts and colored flecks across your images, depending on your angle to the sun and the suns position in the sky. Starbursts are always better closer to the either horizon.

In the end you get a 'mist' filter and a special effects filter.

In macro mode the 'flecks' show up in the bokeh balls (see image). It's a strange look but also interesting.

With starbursts, you can achieve them with your lens wide open, and it looks better to me than dedicated starburst filters do. Close the aperture down to f/11 and you get a greater starburst effect (depending on your lens), and some color thrown in.
However, because it is an overall mist filter the starbursts will not be razor sharp...even at f/11.

It's a fun and interesting filter, and what you get out of it...is up to you and your imagination.

The glass of this starlight filter has short threads of multiple colors imbedded in it which produce colored streaks when shooting bright lights. The effect I got from sample shots shows discrete radial streaks with each streak mostly a single color. This is somewhat different than the Amazon listing photos where all the streaks had a prismatic/rainbow like effect. It's still interesting, but not quite the same.

The filter construction seems very good. The filter can be spun like a polarizing filter so you can adjust the rotation of the various colored streaks. The filter also comes with a nice polypropylene case and three individually sealed microfiber cleaning cloths as a bonus.

I am. now officially a K&F fanboy as I'm yet to be disappointed by anything from them, this being no exception.
Usual manufacturing standard are maintained, if that's not stating the obvious, I just need to find the occasion to use it properly now.
Test shots of a candle at home are enough to convince me it works but I'm looking forward to having a shoot booked where I can give it a proper outing.

Il prodotto arriva ben custodito all'interno di una scatola rigida in plastica e al suo interno è completamente avvolto da una sede in schiuma; oltre al filtro, nella confezione troviamo 3 panni in microfibra per la pulizia della lente.
Preso per la mia Nikon D5200 monta perfettamente sia sull'obiettivo standard 18-55 ed anche sul 55-200, è davvero molto facile da montare e non arreca il minimo disturbo durante l'utilizzo è possibile montare il paraluce molto velocemente, ciò vale sia per quelli ad incastro che quelli a baionetta.
Lo utilizzo principalmente per fare foto di sera barra notte pr poter sfruttare al massimo l’effetto del filtro.
L’effetto che riceviamo fotografando le fonti di luce è come se si illuminasse un prisma o anche più “scherzosamente” è come un effetto “astigmatismo”, il che da un tono particolare alle foto.
Il vetro K9 garantisce un'elevata trasmittenza luminosa e altrettanta resa cromatica, garantendo un’immagine chiara e di qualità.
Realizzato in lega d'alluminio aerospaziale sabbiato, la finitura opaca evita anche i riflessi e la penetrazione della luce diffusa, garantendo un grip davvero alto ed inoltre si ha anche la possibilità di poter ruotare il filtro grazie ad un cuscinetto integrato e la rotazione è fluida e da abbastanza resistenza al movimento che ci aiuta a fare un movimento fluido nel caso si sta riprendendo piuttosto che fotografando.
La parte del filtro che va ad avvitarsi sull’obiettivo è anche provvista di dentatura su tutta la circonferenza in modo da favorire al massimo la presa durante il montaggio/smontaggio; sulla parte frontale invece è presente una sede per poter agganciare il tappo copri-obiettivo.
Unica pecca: con fotocamere entry level o con obiettivi che hanno una bassa luminosità, se lo si utilizza di sera/notte si potrebbero avere dei problemi con il focus automatico.
In conclusione: ottimo prodotto, consigliato!

Filtro a prisma della ormai benvenuta K&F, che propone un effetto starlight che aggiunge qualche effetto flare sui punti luce che non è niente male.
Ottimo per ritrattistica in controluce e per paesaggi urbani con luci. Il risultato aggiunge un qualcosa di piuttosto sognante che rende più attrattive le foto ma ovviamente da usarsi con parsimonia solo ed esclusivamente quando ritenuto idoneo.
Potreste sperimentare aggiungendo ad esso altri filtri come il misty per avere effetti più eterei o sognanti.

Its fun to shoot on, but there isn't a very big range of shots that would work well with it (at least, I don't think so) so its a bit limited. But its fun!

I love these fun kind of filters, and its pretty cheap which is nice - so I can just add it to the bag without really hitting the wallet - for any interesting shots that may popup where I can take advantage of it!

I got the 49mm one, and it was a perfect thread match.

Well constructed, comes with cleaning cloths too (nice perk, I have a tendency to losing these)

Sure you can achieve the same look in post-production, but when you can get the desired effects from a filter in-camera, why wouldn't you?

I Have ordered several K&F special effects filters in the past and have found that they can add to your creativity if you take the time to learn how to use them.
This Starlight Glare filter will be used in many of my landscape shots. More often than not I have been moving away from adding special effects to my photos when downloading to my computer. With these types of filters, I find it more interesting to get those effects in the field and to be able to tell people honestly, they were not “photoshopped”. As with all the K&F filters I own, I’ve had no problems with attaching them to my lenses and are well made for the price.
As always, it’s a nice touch that they include a couple of cleaning clothes in the box to care for the filter.

Dieser Prismen-Effektfilter von K&F kommt bestenfalls nachts zum Einsatz und erzeugt bunte Flares in Form von Strahlen um helle Lichtquellen. Ich empfehle, denn Fokus manuell scharfzustellen, da der Autofokus durch die Streifen im Filter beeinträchtigt werden könnte. Da es sich um einen sehr speziellen Filter handelt, dessen Einsatzbereich stark begrenzt ist, begrüße ich den günstigsten Preis. Qualitativ sind die meisten Filter von K&F, aus eigener Erfahrungen, inzwischen aber auf so gutem Niveau, dass man bedenkenlos zugreifen kann. Man sollte aber beachten, dass man bei so einem Filter nicht auf Anhieb die besten Ergebnisse bekommt. Vielmehr muss man gegebenfalls auch mal die eigene Position ändern und mit der Blende spielen, um ein optimales Ergebnis zu erzielen. Wer kreative Ergebnisse bei starken Lichtquellen im Bild wünscht und eher davor zurückschreckt, Effekte durch langwierige Nachbearbeitung zu generieren, sollte den besonderen Look dieses Prismenfilters ausprobieren.

I own a lot of K&F filters. They are well made and fit like a glove. This filter is no exception. I like the effect this filter gives, and it is nice to have for evening shots. I highly recommend it!
