55mm Lens Filter Black Mist 1/8 & Variable ND2-32 2 in 1 Filter Cinematic Effect Neutral Density Filter with 18 Multi-Layer Coatings - Nano-Klear Series

I bought this two months ago as I needed a both mist filter and an ND filter. I didn’t though I’ll find both filters into one— moreover, the neutral density to be adjustable between ND2 and ND32. No unwanted crosses, the videos are fantastic and it gives a hint of warmth on top of that. Truly add values to my videos.
I just want to leave you with a few images and a short video shot with an iPhone through the filter. Will add more in the future and keep you updated.

This filter is well built with good machining. The threading is good and I had no issues putting the filter on my lens. The adjustable ND moves smoothly and easily. It has markings for each stop, but does not lock into stops.

The filter gives a nice halo look when aimed at bright light sources. I had no issues with patterning or vignetting, however, I did notice a warm color cast. The warm color cast is nice in some instances.

I use this filter when livestreaming an event on my iPhone. The filter is simple to use; I place it into the filter holder for my iPhone. The quality of the filter is nice as it is not scratched and fits perfectly into the holder. I appreciate that the seller includes cleaning cloths. I'm outside in sometimes dusty or humid environments while livestreaming. The filter removes the glare on the subject and that makes it easier for the viewer.

I used this with my work iPhone for a livestreaming event. This filter reduced the glare off of the plexiglass so the audience could see much better. When the glare was reduced, it was easier to see the details and the color of the subject. I recommend getting a filter holder for an iPhone so you don't have to hold the filter. It's a really good value for the money because it works very well.

I like K&F Concept. I think they make quality items at good prices and this filter is no different. It comes with three microfiber cleaning clothes, which is always appreciated. It screws onto my lens smoothly, but I do have to tighten it up a little more than my other filters otherwise it can start to loosen up from turning it for adjustments. I'm a fan of variable ND's as it gives you more flexibility. I attached a couple pics with and without the filter and I do really like the look that the Black Diffusion Mist element adds. I was able to go from a 1/8000 to 1/500 shutter with 50mm F1.8 ISO 200, which is pretty good. If you are looking for an innovative combo filter, then you should definitely check this one out.

As a long-term hobbyist photographer, I'm always interested in the new photographic "tools" that are being advertised. I enjoy photographing landscapes, which may include sunrises, sunsets and photos of streams and waterfalls. Other photographers understand how excess light and glare can make good photo results/outcomes more of a challenge.

I was especially interested in this K&F Concept ND filter, because it was advertised as VARIABLE in adjustment (ND 2-32)! The product arrived in very good/secure manufacturer packaging, and the contents included the variable ND filter, as well as 3 sealed micro cleaning cloths. I ordered the filter in 82mm as this will give me greater available lens size options when using the variable ND filter; I have step up rings, which allow me to use filters that are larger in diameter than the actual lens installed on my DSLR cameras.

The machining for this lens filter is obviously of higher quality. Fine mounting threads reveal absolutely no burrs and no seizing or grittiness in feel while installing or removing the filter from lenses. The filter finish appears flawless in matte black and includes an area of the circumference that is slightly serrated/grooved, which allows for easier gripping of the outside of this ringed ND filter.

The variable ND capability allows for significant filtering outcomes for my photography projects given the ND 2-32 filtering levels available (see photos). I heartily recommend this economical, practical/useful K&F Concept variable ND filter to other photographers using DSLR and mirrorless camera systems.

As with all K&F filters that I own, this one is well built and the machining is excellent. I have other black diffusion filters and I really like the look. This filter combines the black diffusion with an ND filter (all in one), and the ND is adjustable. The filter is a screw on filter and the threading is good. The filter also adjusts easily, but is not a lock stop filter. Adjusting the filter is very smooth and easy.

I didn’t notice any issues with vignetting and I didn’t see any X patterning. However, you do get a warm color cast when using. I included some footage which really shows the cast and I did not alter any settings in the camera so you will see just the effect of the filter at ND2. I should mention that I was away from the sun in the video. It is not as apparent for me when directed at the light source. When directed at a light source or sources, you do get a beautiful light spreading halo effect at the light sources.

In some instances I like the warm color cast. It gives a glowing homey feel for me. However, there are some instances that I feel like the warm cast is too much. It can be toned down in post, but that’s an extra step.

For me, this filter is a specialty filter. I like the look for certain situations. I would say if you want a dreamy, warm feeling in one filter that softens light sources, it is a good filter. The price point is good for the quality of filter. However, if choosing again, I would get two filters (one standalone black diffusion and a standalone variable ND) and put them together for hopefully the same effect as this filter, but giving more options to using separately.

This is my fifth k&f concept filter. I’ve never been disappointed with the quality they deliver, this filter is no exception. The precise machining on it and the nice smooth variable filter media stays where it is turned too, not too stiff and not loose. Comes with a nice storage case that’s protective and a trio of microfiber cleaning clothes. Excellent product and image quality.
