The very first thing we found was a gold coin right in front of our own house. The coin dates from the early 19th century. When we brought it to the beach after about three hours of continuous use, my son was able to determine what type of coin would come out of the sand. He is only 12 years old and is now completely enthusiastic about this hobby.
