I love that this has a lens cap as my lens cap never stays on my old VND filter. The only thing you'll question is if it's practical to have a circular polarizer MARRIED to a VND...sure it helps a great deal outdoors, but this thing does have the CPL / VND interfering with one another towards the extreme ends, even when locked off so expect to see glare / reflections increase or decrease as you're ONLY adjusting the VND.

The black mist filter is a nice inclusion. A good outdoor kit but I do wish K&F made a magnetic lens hood, even if rubber to reduce weight on the magnets, as it's sophie's choice during a summer day - have VND and lose the hood, or keep the hood to reduce glare and no VND as it can't attach to the filter usually.

I’ve already had a 6-9 stop with an nd and polarizer filter, and I should have started with a 1-5 stop instead. Well this basically completes my set for 67mm lenses.

I’ve never had a magnetic set and I’m really loving it. It’s easy to swap in and out, and it’s very secure.

It does come with a storage case that’s both zippered and magnetic. It’s a bit bulky but holds it well and is secured. You can opt to use just the magnetic closure or utilize both the zipper and the magnetic closure to store things. It’s a nice feature should you want to access this on the go.

I’m an amateur photographer at best, but these lenses really rounded out my basic needs for the type of photos that I shoot. And for the price, ease of use, and versatility of this kit, I couldn’t be any happier.

As a bit of a self confessed camera guy, I’m always trying to make my shoots easier without compromising quality, and this lens kit has been a proper help. I’ve been using it for a few weeks on both outdoor and indoor shoots, and it’s definitely made switching filters much quicker and less fiddly.

The first thing that stood out was the magnetic system. Honestly, it’s a little satisfying when the filters click into place. No more screwing filters on and off while I’m juggling a camera and tripod. I was on a quick outdoor shoot last weekend, hopping between different angles and lighting, and being able to just pop the filter on or off in a couple of seconds saved me so much time.

The kit comes with three filters: a CPL, an ND, and a black diffusion filter. For anyone who might just be starting out and not too familiar, the CPL reduces reflections and glare from surfaces like water or glass, and it really makes colours pop. I used it on a landscape shoot by a lake, and the sky looked richer while the glare off the water was gone — it actually made the shot look like something out of a magazine.

The ND filter is great for shooting in bright sunlight. Basically, it blocks some light so I can still get that nice cinematic blur or shallow depth of field without everything getting overexposed. On a sunny afternoon shoot, I kept it on my lens most of the time — it made a noticeable difference and saved me from fiddling with shutter speeds constantly.

The black diffusion filter has been surprisingly useful too. I used it for a quick interview setup indoors, and it softened the highlights in a way that made everything look more polished. It’s subtle, but it gives your footage a cinematic touch that you notice without feeling overdone.

Build quality is solid. The filters feel sturdy without adding weight to my lens, and the slim frames make them easy to carry around. I’ve thrown them in my bag a couple of times without worrying about scratches, and they’ve survived just fine. Optical clarity is excellent too — no weird colour casts or vignetting on most lenses.

That said, there are a couple of really minor things. On longer focal lengths, the ND filter can be a touch soft. I only noticed it when I was zoomed in a lot, so it’s not a dealbreaker for me, but it’s worth keeping in mind. Also, the magnetic mount means my regular lens cap doesn’t fit unless I remove it, which can be a tiny pain when I’m rushing between shots.

Even with those little quirks, this filter kit has made my life on shoots much easier. Switching between filters is fast, the case keeps everything organised, and I’ve been able to adapt to changing light conditions without slowing down. I’ve already used it on several trips and small shoots, and I can see it becoming a permanent part of my kit.

Overall, I’d still recommend it. It’s convenient, versatile, and really improves footage without much extra effort. The minor softness on some ND filters and the lens cap issue mean it’s not perfect, but for the price and how much easier it makes shooting, it’s a solid kit.

I hope this review helps someone out.

There is so much to talk about, with the K&F Magnetic Filter Kit, it's hard to know where to start! To be brief, this kit - as with other products offered by K&F - is top of the line! Suburb quality, attention to detail and truly innovative designs, makes for a company that is going to continue to bring magic to the industry!

The case - the actual case! - is a model of creative design and function meeting with form. The outer material is a grey/blue colour, and has a look of denim. Accent stitching is in orange - other stitching is black. Opening the case require lifting a large central flap, and then running a single headed zipper all around the outside. It is one of those designs where the the ends of the zipper runs, park onto the forth side. This means never having any stress on the zipper. Smart! Unlike most zippers, this one has a shield running along both teeth. The reason is to reduce possible water intrusion through the traditional holes between zipper teeth. Smart again!

The flap? If you forget to zip up the pouch, you can quickly fold down the flap and it will hold the contents firmly. The flap works with a magnetic clasp, and will not allow the pouch contents to spill out. Smart X3!

The back of the pouch has a loop for threading you belt through, or you can open the loop up as it is formed with velcro. By doing that, you can secure the pouch to something that you can't run through the opening - like a pole, for example. And above this velcro strap, the is a a nice, thick "D-ring" attached to the pouch. A simple clip will hold the pouch secure. Too many smart ideas to keep track of...!

There are leather bits of trim on the outside and a wonderful interior of four expanding pouches, made of a very smooth nylon like material. The bright colour makes it easy to see into each pouch and it is easy to retrieve any item you want. And that just the features and care that went into the pouch!!

I have a few dozen 4X5" filters for our video camera. Some are effect filters, some for colour correction, some grads for pulling in the sky, and on and on. I have a pretty good idea of filters and their uses, and have been doing this for almost fifty years. Let me state, that the quality and care that K&F puts into their product, is nothing short of amazing. (And "no", I don't work for them in any way!)

The kit presented here, is for image control and enhancement. With this kit, you can adjust for reflections, pull down the bright sky, open up the aperture and soften an image.

As with the great case, the filters - holder and lens cap, too - the quality is just amazing. You have terrific ideas that are well executed, and simple features - such as the optical glass - that is simply of the highest quality.

You first screw in the "baseplate" of the system - a black powered coated steel ring that attaches to the front of your lens. Talk about small details that are amazing - rather than having this ring with a complete knurled surface, it uses a unique placement I have not seen before. On the edge of this ring, the edge between the top of the ring and the front surface, and they have cut a very fine detail of lines. This is something you really have to look for. But it provides you with a gripping aid, when you want to remove this ring. Beautifully done!

Of the three glass filters, you have some different ways to change your image. For example, you have up to 10 stops of light reduction by using the ND option. This means you need to slow down you shutter, which can a big effect on your image. You can use the filer pack to cut reflections for light striking objects at a certain angle (water, windows...) And you have a terrific softening filter - a 1/4 Black Diffusion.

The Black Diffusion will take off, some of that "too crisp" look. These filters were used a lot in the earlier days of video production, to try and achieve a more "film look", over the hard edge of video. They might not be used a much today, due to increased options in the cameras themselves, but many of the "old guard", still like to use the repeatable insertion of an optical glass filter. (I'll raise my hand here...)

And I will have to apologize again. I did not mean to make this into an image making class. Or to go on for so long! Going back to the filter pack by K&F, it truly is a terrific kit. It is very high quality - not only the hardware, but the glass as well. I know the kit is not cheap, but you need to remember that this is a kit you will have for years. As long as your filter size of your lens remains the same!

Bottom Line - Wonderful kit! Feature rich in every aspect! Not inexpensive, but worth the price of admission!

Great kit to fit onto my Film Camera 50mm lens. I used step up rings to get to 67mm and it works great. The accordion case is great for access, though I dont love the open air nature of it when its not fully zipped in terms of dust ingress. there is also a magnetic flap so you dont have to commit to fully zipping it on the go, but its not strong enough to catch every time so I wouldnt use it. The magnet system is good and holds nicely, the front metal cover is durable and protective and snaps nicely. The CPL and ND are linked; you need to use the CPL with the ND to be able to action the variable nature of the ND and they fit nicely together and smoothly move with an arrow to indicate ND intensity. The mist filter is nice too and altogether makes this a great system to save time while shooting.
