An easy-to-use special effect optical filter that delivers solid results.
Ordrered in 82mm thread size, K&F's short ray star filter delivered expected results. The greater the intensity of the light source, the greater the prominence of the star effect. As with all variable filters, the front section of the filter can be rotated to change the angle of the star streaks, while the rear section of the filter is threaded to your choice of diameter.
Bundling the filter with three microfiber cleaning cloths was a nice touch, and the storage case for the filter is of a simple, straightforward design. I would have appreciated having a label of some sort on the case for quick identification, but that's such a minor niggle that I can't fault K&F for not doing this, given that they likely use the same case type for many other filters.
All of the attached images were shot using a combination of the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 Z lens, paired with a Nikon Z6 II body, with each image shot wide open at f/2.8.
