Solid and resistant, it's inside with my Sony Alpha and I'm oblivious to the inside of the M42 without a problem

I blame for my father-in-law for having to buy this adapter, and what followed. My wife and I visit her parents and her dad gives me a few old lens adapters, none of which fit my Nikon camera. I'd had them a few days wondering what if anything I could use them, and found no answers. However, I suddenly realised that with the right adapter I could buy one or two old M42 mount lenses, and just have a little fun taking a few snaps, what a mistake that was. I suddenly found myself buying around a dozen of these old lenses ranging from 28mm to 400mm, and yes, I had lots of fun using these old prime manual focus lenses all because of this adapter.
One day I put a good supply of nuts out in the garden knowing the Squirrel would be down for a snack. My camera with adapter was at the ready and I had few lenses ranging from 135mm to 400mm lined up. The image of the Squirrel happily chomping away was taken using a Prinzflex 400mm F6.3 that cost less than a fiver. What a great way of getting in to wildlife photography if you need a long lens but can't afford a thousand pound plus on a new AF lens!
The adapter is well made, and for what it costs it should be. It is nothing more than a tube that allows M42 screw mount lenses to be attached to a Nikon camera. There are no electrical contacts so you are working in full on manual mode. Every M42 lens I bought from different manufacturers had no problem attaching to the adapter and importantly, there was no light leakage between lens and adapter or the adapter and camera.
I will say care should be taken if like me you are using the adapter to attach older lenses, which are generally made from metal and glass, and not the cheap nasty plastic so many modern lenses are made from. So on longer lenses make sure you support the lens or you could find the weight may damage the adapter or worst, your camera mount.
I would definitely recommend this adapter, it's well made, fits perfectly, functions as it should, and opens up a whole world of quality old lenses that can be used with modern digital cameras. Value for money, I'd say so, if you can pick up cheap lenses which allow you to take piccies you otherwise wouldn't be able to, then it has to be worth every penny.

Good fit for a Nikon D700, with a nice snug connection. Using my old Super Takumar lenses is pretty straightforward, and they line up centrally with the camera. Adapter feels a bit cheap if I’m honest, though it is reasonably well made. There’s only one end cap too, which is daft if you have a lens element in the adapter that would require protection.
Lens element itself I don’t think is coated, or not coated very well. I’m noticing hot spots in the middle of the frame if there’s strong light sources. It’s subtle, but it’s enough to reduce contrast in the centre of an image, covers about a third of the frame. As a gig photographer, it’s not a massive issue as it creates an interesting artistic effect, and I only bought this to try my M42 lenses on a Nikon body while I wait for some proper Nikon AI lenses to arrive. But for landscape or portrait photographers who require absolute control of their images, I would not recommend the adapter.
Infinity focus is just ever so slight off too with my copy.

It does what it says on the tin. Full manual mode and independent light metering but it will make you slow down and appreciate the art rather than rapid firing shots. Not for every situation but great for photography.

Useful for reusing old lenses. With a little practice using manual focus, you can get great images. Very happy with the purchase and the low price!
Impeccable Amazon!

A lens mount from Pentagon six directly onto the Nikon F bayonet, that's great. So far, I thought, you first had to go from the “six connection” to M42x0.75 thread via the adapter... and then with another adapter to the Nikon F bayonet.
No, it's better that way and I'm happy to have “discovered” this part.

I use these adapters for the classic Zeiss biometar and Flektogon lenses. On both camera and lens sides, the adapter sits firmly and without play, and the support dimensions are also correct. The adapter is very well made.

Excellent way to add Pentacon 6/kyiv 60 lenses to a Nikon F mount. Build quality feels sturdy & the ring function is smooth. I used this with a Red Scarlet & DSMC Canon EF mount, using a Nikon F to Canon EOS adapter ring.

Well-made and finished. Looks and feels like a quality item. There's nothing really to go wrong so it works as expected.
