Used with Nikon D700 and M42 Takumar Leneses
Good fit for a Nikon D700, with a nice snug connection. Using my old Super Takumar lenses is pretty straightforward, and they line up centrally with the camera. Adapter feels a bit cheap if I’m honest, though it is reasonably well made. There’s only one end cap too, which is daft if you have a lens element in the adapter that would require protection.
Lens element itself I don’t think is coated, or not coated very well. I’m noticing hot spots in the middle of the frame if there’s strong light sources. It’s subtle, but it’s enough to reduce contrast in the centre of an image, covers about a third of the frame. As a gig photographer, it’s not a massive issue as it creates an interesting artistic effect, and I only bought this to try my M42 lenses on a Nikon body while I wait for some proper Nikon AI lenses to arrive. But for landscape or portrait photographers who require absolute control of their images, I would not recommend the adapter.
Infinity focus is just ever so slight off too with my copy.
