This is an interesting filter with some caveats.
Overall in regular usage it will act like a mist filter...softening the image.
Specifically, you can bring out colored starbursts and colored flecks across your images, depending on your angle to the sun and the suns position in the sky. Starbursts are always better closer to the either horizon.
In the end you get a 'mist' filter and a special effects filter.
In macro mode the 'flecks' show up in the bokeh balls (see image). It's a strange look but also interesting.
With starbursts, you can achieve them with your lens wide open, and it looks better to me than dedicated starburst filters do. Close the aperture down to f/11 and you get a greater starburst effect (depending on your lens), and some color thrown in.
However, because it is an overall mist filter the starbursts will not be razor sharp...even at f/11.
It's a fun and interesting filter, and what you get out of it...is up to you and your imagination.
